The Greater Rochester New York region encompasses cities, towns, and villages in Monroe County and also extends to portions of Genesee County, Livingston County, Ontario County, Orleans County, and Wayne County.

As of the 2010 census, the Greater Rochester NY region had a population of 1,079,671 people.  Known as the “The Flour City” and now know as “The Flower City” as Rochester is the host of the Lilac Festival every year.

Rochester is known for many acclaimed universities, and several of them are nationally renowned (notably University of Rochester & Rochester Institute of Technology).  In additional to the local universities, Rochester is known for many nationally known companies, include Kodak, Bausch & Lomb, and Xerox.
